Cam Davis wins his 2nd Rocket Mortgage Classic in dramatic fashion!

The Rocket Mortgage Classic seemed to be a two horse race for most of the weekend, but Cam Davis was never one of those horses. It was a battle between Akshay Bhatia and Aaron Rai, with a couple of others hanging around until late Sunday. Some strong back nines from Min Woo Lee and Davis Thompson put them in the mix late, but a birdie on 17 got Cam Davis to -18 on the week.

Akshay battled the whole back nine and found himself in a tie at -18 as he teed off on 18. Leaving himself 32 feet for birdie, he just needed to two putt to head to a playoff. His first putt stopped about 4 feet short of the hole, and then he’d miss that and post his first 3 putt of the tournament, making Cam Davis the winner here for the second time in his career.

Congratulations Cam!

20 years since his first - Marcel Siem is a winner again!

It’s been a rocky road for Marcel Siem the last five years or so, having lost his tour card just a few years back, he’s now won in back to back seasons!

After a fantastic final round 65, Tom McKibbin looked like he was poised to win the 2024 Italian Open. Siem certainly didn’t have his best, posting 4 bogeys and one birdie on his final 9 holes, however it proved to be just enough to get him into a playoff with McKibbin.

A birdie on the first playoff hole was enough.

"I love this sport and these moments, I work really hard for them. When you get rewarded like this, it’s a very special moment. I think it’s the second oldest trophy on mainland Europe. So I’ve got the French Open and this one now, I’m so proud of that. My journey is just beginning, it feels like.”

-Marcel Siem

Congratulations to Marcel!
