Third round 64 boosts Denmark’s Niklas Nørgaard to his first DP World Tour win!

“This is what I have been dreaming of since I started playing golf... it means the world”

Niklas Nørgaard

An incredible third round of 64, three strokes better than anyone in the field, gave Niklas Nørgaard a four stroke lead heading into the final round at the Betfred British Masters. It wasn’t a completely stress free final round for him though, as he made a double bogey on the par 5 15th which dropped his lead to just one shot over Thriston Lawrence. Two holes later he’d birdie and put himself two clear of Lawrence, which would be enough to get the job done. An even par final round for Nørgaard results in his first DP World Tour victory in his 81st start.

Congratulations to Niklas!

Scottie Scheffler runs away with the TOUR Championship!

Scottie started with a two stroke lead over the field due to him leading the points race heading into the final round, and shot the best opening round of the tournament. This gave him a seven shot lead over the field, at which point it felt like it had already been decided.

It wasn’t completely smooth sailing, as Collin Morikawa and Sahith Theegala were making charges during the final round and came within just a shot of the lead. Scottie would eventually pull away again and secure the victory and his first PGA Tour Championship victory, seventh win this season, and 20th win as a professional!

Congratulations to Scottie Scheffler on a great conclusion to an already fantastic year!

Steve Lewton wins the Mandiri Indonesia Open in a 3-man playoff!

Late in the final round of the Mandiri Indonesia Open it looked like it was going to be a comfortable victory for England’s Steve Lewton as he birdied the 70th and 71st hole to give himself a two stroke lead as he stood on the 72nd tee.

An unfortunate double bogey would drop him into a tie for first with Sampson Zheng and Aaron Wilkin and they’d head back to the tee for a playoff.

Things didn’t get any less dramatic for Lewton there, as he missed a four foot par putt that would have won him the playoff on the first hole. His second tee shot nearly found the same hazard he ended up in in regulation, but his ball came to rest on a cart path just short. From there he hit a fantastic shot to inside 10 feet, made the birdie, and secure the win.

This is Steve Lewton’s second victory on the Asian Tour and comes over 10 years after his first!
