Jon Rahm claims LIV Golf Chicago and Individual Championship
Jon Rahm entered this week with one job to do. Finish ahead of Joaquin Niemann.
He was leading the individual points race by a small margin and no one else was within striking distance so all he needed to do was finish ahead of Joaquin and the season long Individual Championship title would be his. After the first round he was 7 shots back of the leader, but his bogey free 64 second round had him entering the final round with a one shot lead over Sergio Garcia. At that point, he was 3 shots clear of Niemann for the individual title.
He’d effectively hold on to a 3 shot lead for the majority of the final round. It dropped to two shots as he was on the 17th tee, a tricky par 3 with hazards all around the green. This is where he reminded us that he’s Jon Rahm, and he’s one of the best players on the planet. He hit it to 12 feet and made the birdie putt, giving himself a three shot lead once again, with just one hole to play.
In the team event, Crushers GC claimed their third title of the season. As LIV heads into the Team Championship this week, they’ll be the betting favorites as they’re in peak form. They led wire-to-wire in Chicago.
Congratulations to Jon Rahm and Crushers GC!

Rasmus Højgaard with a late surge to win the Amgen Irish Open over Rory McIlroy
With nine holes to play at the Amgen Irish Open, Rory McIlroy was leading Rasmus Højgaard by three strokes. That’s whan Rasmus turned on the jets. He’d make birdie on 10, 12, 14, 16, 17, and 18 (with a bogey on 13) and close with a 31 to put himself two shots ahead of Rory.
Two groups behind, Rory knew where he stood. On the 18th tee, a reachable par 5, he knew he needed eagle to force a playoff. A fine drive followed by a fantastic approach left him about 10 feet for eagle. The putt just barely slid by the hole and Rasmus Højgaard would take the victory. It’s his fifth DP World Tour victory, his first of the year, and it sets him up nicely for the Race to Dubai.
Congratulations to Rasmus Højgaard!

Patton Kizzire blitzes the field at the first Procore Championship!
Patton Kizzire found himself in the lead after a second round of 65 at the Procore Championship and never looked back. By the end of the third round he was up by four, and would eventually go on to win by five strokes over David Lipsky.
For a 2024 that up until this point was forgettable for Kizzire, this is a great win. Having not won since the Sony Open in 2018, Patton has struggled with the mental side of the game. This breakthrough is a big step forward and could be the start to an upswing in his game!
Congratulations to Patton Kizzire!
