DP World Tour
Over six years after his first, Paul Waring records his second DP World Tour win at the HSBC Championship!
Off the heels of an incredible second round at Yas Links where Paul Waring shot a 61, he’d head to the weekend with a five shot lead over Tommy Fleetwood, Niklas Norgaard, Thorbjorn Olesen, and Johannes Veerman.
Though not far behind that pack was heavy hitters Rory McIlroy and Tyrrell Hatton, but they’d have their work cut out for them if they wanted to chase down Paul.
However Saturday just really wasn’t Paul’s day as he’d only record one birdie on the day, and with two bogeys on the card he’d enter the final round just one shot ahead of Norgaard. Fortunately he was able to recapture his form from the first two rounds in the last and record a final round of 66 (-6) to win by two shots. Though it wasn’t the most comfortable of wins, as late Sunday evening he was tied with Tyrrell Hatton.
Waring would birdie the last two holes to win by two strokes. A huge win for the 39 year old as this positions him well within the top 10, meaning that he’ll earn his PGA Tour card and head to the USA to play in the 2025 season.
Congratulations Paul!
This week on the DP World Tour:
This week is the final event of the 2024 DP World Tour Season, the DP World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai. Among many great storylines headed into this week, something to look out for are the players hovering around the top 10, as the top 10 not already exempt on the PGA Tour will earn their 2025 tour cards, this week has a pool of 12,000 points, meaning the winner will in all likelihood jump into the top 10 regardless of where they are currently!

Austin Eckroat records his second win of the calendar year at the World Wide Technology Championship!
Austin is no stranger to winning as he was a member of one of the most stacked college golf teams in recent history, the 2018 Oklahoma State University Cowboys. This team also included Viktor Hovland and Matt Wolff, and claimed the 2018 NCAA Championship.
So it’s no surprise to see him finding the winner’s circle twice in his second year on the PGA Tour, and he did it in dramatic fashion. Austin would record the sole 63 in final round of the tournament, gaining over 5.5 strokes on the field to win by one shot over Carson Young and Justin Lower. He made 11 birdies in the final round to give himself a comfortable two shot lead on the final hole, where he’d make a bogey to seal the victory.
I think that second win kind of solidifies that you can win on the PGA TOUR. You can't just say it was luck this time; I've done it twice. Pretty cool.
Congratulations to Austin Eckroat on becoming the first PGA Tour University Alum to win multiple times on tour!
This week on the PGA Tour:
The PGA Tour heads to Bermuda this week for the Butterfield Bermuda Championship where they’ll be playing at Port Royal Golf Course. Last year this event was won by Camillo Villegas, and this week will be the second to last chance for PGA Tour players to improve their playing status for the 2025 season.
