Rory McIlroy found himself six shots off the lead after the second round of the Pebble Beach Pro-Am after opening rounds of 66-70, but the weekend was a much different story. He’d post a fantastic third round of 65, tying Shane Lowry for the best round of the day. This put the two Irishmen one shot back of Sepp Straka heading into the final round of the tournament.
Rory would follow that round up with a 66 on Sunday, with a 31 on the back nine to seal the deal. He’d win by two strokes over Shane Lowry and get his 27th PGA Tour victory, at one of the worlds best venues!
Congratulations to Rory McIlroy!
This week on the PGA Tour is one of their signature, both figuratively and literally, events. The Waste Management Open at TPC Scottsdale. Nick Taylor looks to defend his 2024 victory where he won in dramatic fashion. You can read about last year’s finish here:
Schneiderjans was two strokes back of the leader Joaquin Niemann after the second round in India. The third round by Niemann gave Schneiderjans the perfect opportunity to get back to the winners circle, and he posted a second consecutive 69 and entered the final round with a three shot lead.
He’d follow that up with a third consecutive 69 and would win by four strokes over Bryson DeChambeau, who’d shoot the best round of the day with a 65. Ollie will be thrilled to get this wind and find solid form as he fills in this upcoming week for Phil Mickelson in the first LIV Golf event of the season.
Congratulations to Ollie Schneiderjans!
The Asian Tour’s next event will be the New Zealand Open the week of February 27th.
A steady final round for Laurie Canter that featured a hole out eagle on the 6th, a birdie on the 14th, and 16 pars was just enough to get him in a playoff with Dan Brown and Pablo Larrazabal.
The 3 man playoff wouldn’t last long as both Pablo and Dan made bogey on the first hole and Laurie made birdie to secure the victory. He jumps into second in the Race to Dubai rankings, and 8th in the Ryder Cup standings.
Congratulations to Laurie Canter!
